Momoiro no Kansho # 1: "Erotic" Ero-guro-nansensu manga anthology edited/translated by Rob Gowers
From the folks that brought you PINK BANANA comes MOMOIRO NO KANSHO VOLUME 1!
Momoiro no Kansho seeks to explore and celebrate the ero-guro-nansenu (erotic-grotesque-nonsense) art and culture of the Showa era; featuring works spanning almost five decades from the very emergence of the ero-guro scene in 1927, up to its gekiga revival in the 60s and 70s.
Offering an alternative view of what is typically associated with ero-guro, this first "Erotic" volume of Momoiro no Kansho includes works paying tribute to classic literature by the likes of John Cleland and Edgar Allan Poe; works featuring S&M themes from titans of the genre Yoji Muku & Akira Kito; and even true crime gekiga focusing on real-life figures such as Oden Takahashi and Sada Abe.
Sourced directly from hard-to-find gekiga and true story magazines, and reprinted for the first time since their original publication, all works in this book are officially licensed under the Orphan Works Licensing System.
