PINK BANANA 2! an anthology of obscure sleaze manga!

$20.00

The second volume of the incredible collection of bizarre sleaze manga, published by Showashowcase, we are pleased to have these in stock! More info from the editor:

PINK BANANA collects some of the weirdest, raunchiest, and most obscure manga of the 1960s and 70s. Even in Japan, none of these works have ever been reprinted, and will be the first time that many of these artists have ever been translated into English!

Sourced directly from forgotten gekiga magazines (from obscure hidden gems to more mainstream publications), and bottom-of-the-barrel true story magazines, PINK BANANA seeks to cover some of the most unique and unusual manga that the Showa 40s (1965-75) has to offer. This second issue focuses on the theme of passion (or rather crimes of passion), featuring sex, rape, murder, greed, jealousy, and even cannibalism, from some of the best overlooked artists of the era.

We also return to the Showa 20s (1945-55) to the murky world of post-war kasutori pulp magazines with another illustrated short story from this rarely-explored era.

All fully licensed through the orphan copyright system, PINK BANANA throughout its 120 pages offers a unique look into a forgotten era of manga history.
